“Greeted straight away by Beyhan, who explained it would be better to order the Daily Munch breakfast and changed some items for me. The atmosphere was really good, the music top tier.”

About the cafe

A proper Barking caff, not a coffee chain

Daily Munch sits on Faircross Parade, on Longbridge Road where it meets Upney Lane. It’s the sort of place you drop into before an early shift, meet a mate for a fry-up, or grab a hot dinner on the way home.

The kettle goes on at half six, the plates are generous and home-cooked, and there’s a good few regulars who’ve been coming for the best part of ten years. Warm room, decent music, no fuss.

Questions people ask

The practical bits — hours, the food and finding us on the parade.

What time do you open?

Monday to Friday we’re open 6:30 in the morning until 16:00, Saturday from 7:00 until 16:00, and we’re closed on Sundays. The pill at the top of the page shows live whether we’re open right now.

Do you do a full English?

We do. The Daily Munch Breakfast is the big one, with eggs, sausages, bacon, beans, mushrooms, hash browns, grilled tomato and toast. Prefer it your way? Build your own and we’ll leave off anything you don’t want.

Is it just breakfast, or lunch and dinner too?

The kitchen runs all day. Alongside breakfast there are home-cooked hot dinners, burgers, toasties, jacket potatoes and daily specials from the board. Pop in or call and we’ll tell you what’s cooking.

Where are you, and how do I get there?

You’ll find us at 21 Faircross Parade on Longbridge Road, at the Upney Lane junction in Barking, IG11 8UW. It’s a short walk from Upney station on the District line, and the buses along Longbridge Road stop right outside. Directions and a map are just above.

Do you do smoothies and takeaway?

Yes to both. There’s a smoothie menu blended to order, plus teas, coffees and cold drinks, and most of the food can be made to take away. Give us a ring on 020 8591 4404 to order ahead.
